Hello!
I've always shied away from dining sets for sale, because they always just seemed like so. much. work.
And really, they are.
But I've had the itch to switch out my own dining set lately, and I wasn't entirely sure I wouldn't keep this one. Alas, I won't, so I get to share it with you!
This was a Goodwill find. A great Goodwill find. Solid mahogany, six chairs all in great shape.
I loved the skirt on this table top, it gave it a little more presence I thought, and the scroll work on the chairs is just fabulous.
Because this set would be for sale, I wanted to stay pretty neutral on the color. Also, it just had a more formal feel, so I went with black.
This is General Finishes Lamp Black Milk Paint - just can't get enough of the stuff! Lightly distressed edges.
The top was in pretty good shape, so I wet sanded the entire thing, and re-stained with General Finishes Java Gel Stain. Three coats of High Performance Poly in satin, and this table is ready for a dinner party!
The chairs were recovered with a printed duck fabric. Neutral, but complimenting to the set.
Love the pedestals on these tables. And I didn't snap a picture, but it has brass feet too!
This set is off to the shop!
Blessings,
Jenni
