No. 89 Vintage Black Desk

A desk... in honor of BACK TO SCHOOL!!  YIPPEE!!!

Here it was before, the classic orange oak finish, but in really good shape.  Trust me when I say, this baby is Heavy!
I thought with these great detail, a black distressed finish would be great.

This is General Finishes Lamp Black Milk Paint.  I've just recently started using this paint, and I really like it!  The finish is super smooth, and the black is real black.  Waxing dark colors doesn't always give the most uniform sheen, but it gives it a hand rubbed look which I'm happy with.

The top was sanded bare and stained with General Finishes gel stain in Antique Walnut.  Again, I really like this product, and the color is great against the black.

Finished off with Poly-Acrylic.  And this baby is ready for all back to school can swing at it!

The original hardware stayed, it is brass, and has just the right amount of patina to it.  These drawers are all dovetail, and smooth sliding.  The drawers are heavy too - this is solid construction!
Available in the Roots & Wings Etsy Shop!

Blessings,
Jenni
