No. 78 Charcoal Gray Antique Dresser

Before...

This baby was tucked in the back of my very favorite furniture shop.  It was in rough shape, missing/mis-matched knobs, and look at that top.  But I knew what was underneath.  Glory!

This one cleaned up BEAU-TI-FULLY! Some pieces are just a makeover, but some pieces of furniture I feel privileged to refinish (I know, I'm a dork) but this was one of them.  The Federal, Hepplewhite style is just fantastic!

The top was stained with a custom mix, something like half Jacobean, half Red Mahogany by Minwax. It gave it a rich, not too red finish.  Sealed with three coats of Minwax Poly-Acrylic in satin.

The body was painted in homemade chalk paint with Cracked Pepper by Behr.  This is a perfect charcoal gray, goes with anything, but makes a great statement.  Finished with a coat of Fiddes and Sons Clear wax.

The top hardware stayed original, cleaned up with Bar Keepers Friend (that stuff works great!).  The bottom drawers got new replica hardware.  Oval bail pulls are so classic!

Oh!  Look at those feet.

Blessings for a great week!
