No. 71 Vintage Chest of Drawers

A friend gave me a head's up that this little chest was sitting at Goodwill last weekend.

Getting furniture at Goodwill here is a game, you have to play it just right.  Well, thanks to the tip I won!  There was nothing super special about this dresser.  It had a terrible veneer top and was an awful brown, but there were good bones.  And I love me a two-tone piece, so this seemed the perfect candidate!

Ahhh, much better.  I used a mix of blue and dark gray to get the body of the piece, and antique white for the drawers.

I glazed this one with walnut stain.  I don't know why I did it that way, but I am happy with how it looks.  A good overall antiquing.  I used paste wax to seal it up.

The hardware is what makes this piece.  It is rusted (looking) cast iron, it's from Hobby Lobby.

The top had a few issues and I just decided to leave it, and paint it.  It is after all an old piece, it's allowed to look it's age.

This baby is for sale in the shop Roots & Wings Etsy Shop

Blessings!
Jenni
